This folder contains alternative "D2XX" drivers for the USB232 and
USB485 devices, rather than the usual "VCP" (Virtual COM Port) drivers.

DO NOT INSTALL THESE DRIVERS IF YOU WANT THE DEVICE TO APPEAR AS A COM
PORT - INSTALL THE NORMAL VCP DRIVERS INSTEAD.

The D2XX drivers are provided for Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows
CE.NET, Windows RT, Mac OS X, Linux, and Android (Java). They cannot be
installed at the same time as the normal "VCP" drivers.

Installation guides for the D2XX drivers are provided in sub-directories
of the main "Drivers" directory up two steps from this directory.

No separate D2XX drivers are provided for Windows 2000, Windows XP,
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows
Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server
2012, or Windows Server 2012 R2. The normal "CDM" (Combined Driver
Model) drivers installed for these operating systems combine the normal
VCP and the D2XX interfaces. The DLL for the D2XX library (ftd2xx.dll)
is installed as part of the driver installation. The C header file, and
DLL import libraries for Microsoft Visual C++ may be found in subfolders
of the driver directories. See FTDI's Technical Note "TN_109" for
instructions on including the library in a VS2008 project. This is
available at <https://ftdichip.com/document/technical-notes/>.
